While it certainly wasn't an impossible task, the strength of the Kings line-up made it look like a proverbial cakewalk. Avishka Fernando's 23 off 12 gave them a quick start to the chase and then Thisara's 13-ball 29 finished things off.

The Warriors though might feel a little hard done by. Having lost the toss and been put into bat - they admitted they would've liked to bowl first too - they then set about constructing an innings, keeping wickets in hand for a late onslaught - they only got 39 runs in the powerplay. However rain meant that potential onslaught would never be allowed to materialise, and DLS - taking into consideration powerplay dynamics as well - gave up a fairly gettable target for the Kings. Asalanka, who had set himself up for a big one, was left unbeaten on a well made 44 off 34.
